London has enough locations to make a day’s work exciting and challenging. The river and its bridges, parks, gardens and even the plant houses at Kew provide ample subject matter to explore and produce your own responses. We will begin with some fast charcoal work and then discuss ways to approach a drawing with references to artists whose focus is complimentary to a city landscape; it is important to have a point of view before you embark on recording and reacting to something which has enticed you.
Having met at 11.00 we will work for 90 minutes before lunch, which I suggest you bring along, at 12.30pm. We will then work from 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Our chosen location will be determined by the weather but considering the time of year warm clothes, especially gloves, will be essential.
Boards, paper, graphite, charcoal and colour pastels will be provided. Location will be confirmed closer to date.
It would be helpful if you could give me a week's notice if you have to cancel your place; we will be a small group.
